Some Clinical Experiences of Compound Aluminium-Sodium Carbonate on Peptic Ulcer and Chronic Gastritis

Abstract
|
|
|
A clinical study for the affectivity of compound basic aluminium-sodium
carbonate on peptic ulcer and chronic gastritis was performed. Thirty-two patients were diagnosed by radiologic and endoscopic examinations, of which sixteen cases being gastric ulcer, 9 cases duodenal ulcer, 4 cases combined gastric and duodenal ulcer and 3 cases chronic gastritis. Follow-up evaluation was done clinically, as well as endoscopic & radiologic examinations. The results obtained were as follows;
1) Symptomatic improvement was noted in 90.5 percent of cases. Epigastric pain which was the most common complaint was disappeared in 93.1 percent and hunger pain was subsided 85 percent, nausea & vomiting were subsided in all cases.
2) Objective improvement by endoscopic & radiologic follow up: examination was noted in 85.8%. The drug. was more effective in gastritis (100%) & gastric ulcer-(87.5%) than duodenal ulcer (77.8%) & gastroduodenal ulcer (75%).
3) There was no peculiar side effect during treatment except one observed one case of mild headache.
